Vol. 22  (28) | 07/15/2022

Hopefully kickoffs are already scheduled for August and September start dates. Here are a couple of suggestions and reminders to consider when scheduling dates for a fantastic fall:

1.
Flexibility
Find out if there is a secondary date that is an option and pencil that in.  Delayed
deliveries or last minute schedule changes can affect the start date.

2. Time Allowance
The warehouse is located in New York so you need to plan accordingly for a shipment of
coupon books to get to the west coast or the central part of the country.  If your start date
is on a Monday, ask for books to arrive the Wednesday or Thursday before.  If your start
date is on a Friday, ask for books to arrive Monday or Tuesday of that same week. Keep
in mind that schools close for various reasons (teacher inservice, testing days, holidays)
so confirm the “open dates” especially for the main office when making these plans.

3. Check Email
Anytime a shipment goes out from SaveAround, an email is generated through the
system and is sent to your chairperson (email on file) and the IC.  The tracking # is
included and you can cut and paste that tracking right into the google search to get
updated information on the delivery of the shipment. You can assist in providing timely
information about the shipment to your customer and keep them informed.

4. Weather Considerations
Right now we are enjoying summer temperatures and sunny skies.  However, in a few
months weather conditions will change and needs to be a factor when scheduling
kickoffs.  Think about that time of year (November and December) when the weather
might be a little tough to navigate (especially for a delivery driver) and refer back to #1 -
be flexible and get some optional dates on your calendar in case of inclement weather.

5. Notify The Office
If anything changes - kickoff delayed 3 weeks, waiting until next month to start, customer
is out for a medical condition - whatever the reason - PLEASE communicate that
information with the office. You can email the team - grouprelations@savearound.com
for any GROUP updates, changes, date changes, etc. This will help eliminate double
shipments, refused shipments, or things like this that cost money, time, and effort.

Leftover books - now what?

As you go through the spring/summer cleaning purge and are getting your office in good order for the coming school year, you have discovered a few books that are leftover.  What should you do with them?  They will make a great thank you gift and are excellent tools for prospecting.  Leave one behind with the secretary as a thank you and then also leave one for the coach that you just missed.  Attach a note or a business card and follow up with them.  If you’ve done that then a trip to recycle needs to be on your list.
Resigns for 2023

As you are continuing to re-sign groups for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023, it is important that you mark if it is a RETURNING (re-signed group) or a NEW group.  This helps us keep the records clean and eliminates setting up duplicate accounts in the system.  Additionally if you have a returning group that uses Saint vs. St. be sure to list it just as it ran last year so we can search in that manner.  (Saint Ella School vs. St. Ella School).  If you have any questions about re-signs or need assistance, please email the team:  grouprelations@savearound.com.
