The culmination of the school year will be ending VERY soon. Lots of special activities happen in those last two months of the year as the school year draws to a close. Some of those activities will include graduation, prom or formal dances, teacher appreciation, field day, music concerts and recitals, theater performances, and finally the last day of school.
All of these activities require funding. Have you considered contacting sponsors or teachers to discuss year end plans and where funds are needed?
Don’t forget apparel options are available for field day or seniors or school shirts. Also, coupon books are still available with at least 7 or 8 months left on them until they expire. Remember that the code on the front of the Book is good for 12 months of the SaveAround App from the date of activation.
Make the most of these last few days of the school year. Try to gather information so if you aren’t able to get the group this year you’ll know who to contact in the future perhaps sooner than March for an end of the year activity.
The Importance of an END DATE for Group Sales
Setting an end date is important in a traditional fundraiser to keep the group focused, to help make sure unsold books are returned, and to help customers understand when they will receive their books. For a virtual SOG sale, this end date is just as important! Besides keeping the group on-task and motivated, the end-date is how SaveAround knows that it's time to close out the group and process their SOG Profit check.
SOG Profit checks are issued to groups two (2) weeks after their listed end date for groups who have earned more than $34 in profits. Groups falling short of the $34 threshold are encouraged to continue pushing for additional sales or roll the balance over to jump-start next year's sale. If you have questions about end dates please contact the Group Relations Team: grouprelations@savearound.com

Darrell Gast is our IC in Georgia and has been in the fundraising industry for over 25 years. Recently, he was interviewed about his philosophy, mindset, and attitude while continuing to fundraise in these crazy times and unprecedented times. Read below to find out more about how Darrell has approached fundraising these days.
Q:What would you say to reps who are struggling with fundraising opportunities? A:Take a deep breath, break down your income goals for spring and fall, and then find groups to hit those goals.
Q:How do you find those groups especially when schools are closed? A:I have found with athletics particularly, that practices (and expenses) are still being incurred even during virtual learning. Find teams to call on outside the school building.
Q:What has been your biggest challenge? A:Hitting my spring income goal and finding enough customers to meet that goal.
Q:What advice would you give to reps? A:Three simple steps.
Slow down and figure out your goals from an income perspective.
Create a feeling of plenty with prospects that you can see and call on.
Focus on what you can control. Have you asked your loyal customers/friends “who would you recommend I see?”
By doing this simple three-step plan you will see more and then you will sell more.
