Can you believe that we are less than 2 months from the end of the school year?  Take a few minutes this week as we wrap up the month of April and assess your first four months of the Spring ‘22 season.

A. How many groups did you kickoff?
B. How many groups postponed or moved to later in Spring or even into next Fall?
C. How many returning groups did you work with?
D. How many new groups did you work with?
E. Average # per student seller

Now with that information … answer these questions for yourself:
1. Did you hit your personal goals for Spring ‘22?
2. Did you kickoff the # of new groups you planned for Spring ‘22?
3. Did you run any Sprint One-Hour sales?

If the answer is NO to any of those three questions - there is still time to make up some ground. Some schools in the south will finish up mid to late May.  Other schools in the northeast and west will finish mid June.  At this point, you have a little time to try and run a group or two in these last 45 to 60 days of the school year.  

Some ideas for those groups:
* any groups from Spring who postponed from January, February or March
* any group that ran, but perhaps had a shortfall or didn’t quite hit their goal
* any group that is assisting with year end activities (i.e. field day, graduation, etc)
* any group who may travel over the summer (i.e. training, conference, convention)

In addition, you can also work on getting your summer lined up with bands during band camp.  Also target other non-traditional groups who are not school affiliated (i.e. summer camp program, rec sports leagues, travel ball, church youth groups, etc.)  These groups might take a little extra time, but definitely have budgetary needs just like your school groups.

You are in the homestretch and try to make an extra push to get across that finish line with your goals met, budget in good shape, and a Sprint One Hour sale under your belt.


Who is the right person to contact?  And how do I reach them?
First, check the website for the school.  Usually there is a faculty/staff section that provides a list of staff, administration, teachers along with phone numbers and email addresses.  Next go after specific areas or groups in the school.  For example:
  • Sports teams and cheerleaders: contact the head coach or the athletic director.  
  • Music: band director, choir director, orchestra director or music department chair.
  • Spring activities: find the lead teacher for larger groups (i.e. student council, theater, band, FFA).
  • Field day: start with the front office and find out who to contact.  
  • Clubs: usually there are teachers who might be an appropriate sponsor (science teacher for STEM club); (English teacher for Debate or Speech club). They generally stay in the same area of their expertise with relation to clubs.  

If you want to call on multiple groups in the same school, ask your current sponsors who is who.  They will most likely tell you. 


Closeouts

As the school year is drawing to a close, it is important to get your Spring groups closed out, invoiced, and payment received.  Bookkeepers want to wrap things up quickly so be sure you are doing your part to get groups wrapped up in a timely manner.  If you have questions about closeouts please contact the Group Relations Team: grouprelations@savearound.com



UPDATE - APPAREL INCENTIVE PROGRAM

*Effective January 8, 2022*

Updated information regarding the Apparel Incentive program  

*
Minimum of 200 sellers
* T-shirt = 3 books sold
* Long sleeve = 10 books sold
* one color print maximum
* Minimum 30 items earned or 200 total books sold (either one).  

If minimum is not met, then there will be a charge of $6/t-shirt and $9/long sleeve t-shirt.

Hoodies are not available in this program.
Apparel stock will vary in color depending upon availability (i.e. grey, white, etc.)
Apparel sourcing may cause delivery delays (prepare your groups accordingly)
