Now you are quickly approaching and will soon be in the rush of the fall season - schools are starting to resume back to some sense of normalcy and groups are ready to fundraise.  Here are a few reminders about maximizing your days for the fall while trying to schedule kickoffs, sign new business, handle existing business, and keep up your stamina.

DO
  1. Arrive at school early - try to meet with potential sponsors before school begins.  
  2. Ask for referrals while you are there and try to get at least one per meeting.
  3. Bring your calendar to pencil in kickoff dates or sale dates.  Create a sense of urgency.
  4. Follow up with an email confirming dates and anything else you need to communicate.
  5. Turn in the contract to grouprelations@savearound.com.

DON’T
  1. Email only.  Some sponsors need to see you in person (especially after recent years).
  2. Be in a hurry or rush.
  3. Assume.  Just because it was like that before doesn’t mean that things haven’t changed.
  4. Overpromise.  Know what products are available and when. Don’t assume books are in the warehouse. Confirm with the office and make sure you know the deal along with any updates or things that are new for Fall ‘22.
  5. Be inflexible.  Ask for date options or if things can move up or back on the schedule.


The keys to success for a great fall should include:

  • Be available before AND after school.  Coaches may prefer a post-practice meeting.
  • Offer an evening call or a Saturday morning meeting.  Be flexible and be available.
  • Provide options - coupon books and apparel are always options. Know your products.
  • Always have a plan before you go to a meeting. Be prepared.  Rehearse ahead of time.
  • Ask for a referral (same school or a similar group). Coaches know other coaches.
  • Keep a list of your daily activities and track your results.  
  • Do your daily activities match up with your goals for the fall?
  • Don’t just be “busy”, but rather be “productive”.  
  • There should be a method to your madness.

TRAINING THIS MONTH!

Later this month, the members from the SaveAround team will be conducting some training sessions via phone to help guide you through the Fall season.  We want everyone to be productive while effectively working with as many groups as possible.  Watch your email for dates, times, and all the details. Be sure to join in for these training sessions and there will be incentives for participation so you don’t want to miss out!!
Calendar Countdown

Wait?!?!?!?!? I just got started. School just opened and the fall season just got underway.

However, starting around August 1st and running through December 17th, there are 100 days available (approx) to fundraise with your groups.  Keep in mind that this does not include holidays, fall breaks, or teacher inservice days.  So once you factor in those additional days off (3 holidays, a week for fall break and 2 inservice days) - now you are down to EIGHTY available days to fundraise this fall and we haven’t even mentioned inclement weather.

August, September, and October should be your target months to run as many groups as possible. November and December are somewhat tougher to schedule kickoffs especially with the more holidays in the mix and fall semester drawing to a close.  Many times, sponsors don’t want to add something to their plate late in the semester. Try to fill up the first three months of August, September, and October as quickly as possible.  

CREATE a SENSE of URGENCY!!!  Don’t wait ~ do it NOW!!!!  
Use every hour of every day and be PRODUCTIVE!!!

Resigns for 2023

As you are continuing to re-sign groups for Fall 2022 or Spring 2023, it is important that you mark if it is a RETURNING (re-signed group) or a NEW group.  This helps us keep the records clean and eliminates setting up duplicate accounts in the system.  Additionally if you have a returning group that uses Saint vs. St. be sure to list it just as it ran last year so we can search in that manner.  (Saint Ella School vs. St. Ella School).  If you have any questions about re-signs or need assistance, please email the team:  grouprelations@savearound.com.

1. Each standard graphite pencil has enough graphite to draw a line 35 miles long or write 45,000 words.

2. In the United States, the oldest school was Boston’s Latin School. It opened on April 23, 1635. 5 people who signed the Declaration of Independence attended Boston’s Latin School: Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Robert Treat Paine, Samuel Adams, and William Hopper.

3. Originally Crayola Crayons came in packs of 8. Now they come in packs of up to 120!

4. The most popular color crayon is blue.

5. If you chew the same flavor gum you chewed while studying for a test for five minutes before taking the actual test, it can improve your memory and your results significantly

6. High School was not introduced in the U.S. until 1910 and it was the 1930s before most students attended. Before then, students attended only through Grade Eight.

7. In Armenia, all children aged 6 and up are taught chess at school, as it is a mandatory part of their curriculum.

8. Finland has one of the oldest school starting ages in the world, as well as one of the most successful education systems.

9. One of the subjects taught in Icelandic schools is knitting.

10. Students in China receive the most homework in the world. They complete about fourteen hours a week!
