What a joyous time and momentous occasion!  The culmination of your high school career now ends with the graduation ceremony.  Seniors who graduate are recognized for their accomplishments and plans for the future.  Some will enter college while others may join the military or go directly into the workforce and begin their careers.  

Graduations vary in size and expansiveness.  Some are held on the football field, in the gymnasium or auditorium, while others might be hosted at a local college or university due to the sheer size of the graduation class.

No matter what the venue or size of the graduating class - there are expenses associated with graduation and so let’s talk fundraising.

Usually, cap, gown, and tassel along with the class ring, invitations, photographs, etc. would be expenses that the seniors and their families would cover.  Other expenses that the school might incur would be renting a venue, decorations, printing materials (invitations, program, etc) plus the actual diplomas themselves.  

Contact the school and see who is the teacher/sponsor who is the graduation chair or graduation coordinator.  See what budget items might be needed and if they are planning to expand that in the future (i.e. more seniors graduating, large space needed, etc).  This might also go through the principal or administration of the school.

Be prepared with a list of budget items you have already thought through and come ready with a game plan (the fundraising opportunity) to help them achieve their goals and make the graduation ceremony special and memorable for the seniors and their families and friends.

The great thing about graduation from high school is that this is a recurring event.  It will (or should) happen every single year, so there will be budgetary needs every single year.  Develop a strong relationship with your graduation sponsor and this could be an ongoing repeat customer year after year.

The Importance of an END DATE for Group Sales

Setting an end date is important in a traditional fundraiser to keep the group focused, to help make sure unsold books are returned, and to help customers understand when they will receive their books. For a virtual SOG sale, this end date is just as important! Besides keeping the group on-task and motivated, the end-date is how SaveAround knows that it's time to close out the group and process their SOG Profit check.

SOG Profit checks are issued to groups two (2) weeks after their listed end date for groups who have earned more than $34 in profits. Groups falling short of the $34 threshold are encouraged to continue pushing for additional sales or roll the balance over to jump-start next year's sale.

IFC Website - where is it and what’s it for?

The IFC website is a valuable tool designed with the ICs in mind.  This is a website dedicated to providing the reps with support materials and everything they need in a single location.  Visit www.ifcsavearound.com.  Click Resources and then scroll down.  You will see everything from helpful videos, to downloads, editable PDFs, and archived newsletters.  Each section is specifically designed for a Product Line and its collateral or support materials are below each header.

The main headers include Important Forms; Coupon Books (traditional and SOG - online); Apparel; First Aid Kits; Cookies & Treats; and Newsletters. You are encouraged to visit this site often as the materials you need will be located there and you can download them at your convenience.  If there is something you don’t see or need or think should be on this website, please contact sales@savearound.com and let the team know what you need.
