What is a field day event? A field day is a fun-filled, springtime event held in many schools across the country. A field day gives kids the chance to celebrate the school year coming to an end, show some class pride, and spend a day being active. Field Day gives everyone something to mark an important time in the year with and something to look forward to! Field Day offers the opportunity to integrate other subject areas into the process. Field Day can be used to teach about healthy competition and sportsmanship while promoting physical activity and teamwork.
How does field day work into fundraising through SaveAround?
*Usually Field Day t-shirts are given to all the student participants. *Coordinate an apparel sale for field day through the SA Ink Team. *Apparel could also be a prize for field day fundraising or prize awarded to top winners.
Other SaveAround products (coupon books) could be part of the mix for field day. Field day event winners can win a coupon book. Class fundraisers using coupon books or apparel to generate team totals that are awarded at field day. Through fundraising earn tickets for field day for the various activities during field day to participate in (as a class or an individual).
Get creative and think outside the box and go after your Elementary School Wides with field day in mind and as a priority. The physical education (P.E.) teacher or the Athletic Director (AD) will be your primary point of contact for field day unless it is coordinated through the PTO/PTA organization or another group within the school.

The origin of the term 'field day' comes from the military and refers to maneuvers that took place in a field, but by the 1800s, the phrase was used to refer to any event that happened in a field, ranging from a hunt to a dance to a picnic to a scientific expedition.
Closeout Forms / Email Needed
Just a reminder that when you save the information entered into the closeout form, it does not automatically update the Enterprise system, nor does it alert the Group Relations team to do the same. So, when the closeout is completely updated and finished, send a quick email to grouprelations@savearound.com to let the team know it’s updated. This will alert the Group Relations Team to update Enterprise to match the closeout information, ship any needed books, and officially close out the group.
UPDATE - APPAREL INCENTIVE PROGRAM
*Effective January 8, 2022*
Updated information regarding the Apparel Incentive program
*Minimum of 200 sellers
*T-shirt = 3 books sold
*Long sleeve = 10 books sold
*one color print maximum
*Minimum 30 items earned or 200 total books sold (either one).
If minimum is not met, then there will be a charge of $6/t-shirt and $9/long sleeve t-shirt.
Hoodies are not available in this program. Apparel stock will vary in color depending upon availability (i.e. grey, white, etc.) Apparel sourcing may cause delivery delays (prepare your groups accordingly)

WHO INVENTED FIELD DAY? Field Day was invented by F. Edward Hand in June 1933 which were high claimed scores from the first post-World War II Field Day.
WHAT IS FIELD DAY? A field day is a fun-filled, springtime event held in many schools. It’s a chance to celebrate the school year coming to an end, showing class or school pride while spending the day being active.
WHY IS FIELD DAY BENEFICIAL? Since the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends kids get at least an hour of moderate-to-vigorous exercise a day, it’s important that schools make physical activity a priority for students. Field Day activities is a perfect way to accomplish this.
