Do you have plans and goals?  Are they written down or are they rolling around in your head? When you start out on a road trip do you just jump in the car and start driving?  Probably not.  Most likely you have a plan with a map (or a GPS) with the end in mind.  You have a GOAL to get there in a specific amount of time and a PLAN on how to do that (roads to travel, enough gas to get you there, and anything else you need to help bring that to fruition).  With a GOAL + a PLAN you can achieve your DREAM.  Maybe you are driving to the Grand Canyon. Maybe you are going snow skiing. Maybe you are headed to the beach. Wherever you are headed, goals and plans are critical to make that dream come true.

Ask yourself these questions or put yourself in these scenarios.  Do you want to take a fantastic family vacation this summer?  Do you need to purchase a new vehicle?  Do you have a child starting college in the Fall?  Do you have a child getting married and you would like to help with the wedding? Do you want to add on to your home or put in a swimming pool? Do you have elderly parents that need some assistance? Would you like to travel to see the world? Whatever those DREAMS are you are in control of making them happen (or not).  Same goes for fundraising … Do you want to earn a certain amount of money in commission to help achieve those dreams?  Here are a couple of tips for planning and goal-setting:

1. Write down your DREAMS first.  Visualize that dream and put a timeline on it.
I would like to go to the beach this summer as a vacation.

2. Next figure out the GOAL.
I’ll drive, stay in a hotel, and enjoy some fun activities for a few days.

3. Next figure out the PLAN with a timeline.
I need $2,000 (gas, hotel, meals, activities) by May 1st. Vacation is in June.

Now relate that $2,000 goal in terms of fundraising. How many groups do I need to kick off this Spring? (Average groups run between $1000-$1500 wholesale)  I earn 20% commission for each group that runs.  Each $1500 group =’s $300 commission for me.

GOAL: I need to run 7 groups this spring to earn a little over $2000 for my beach vacation.

Where can I find 7 groups and their needs:
1. High School baseball teams = equipment, uniforms, travel
2. High School softball teams = equipment uniforms, travel
3. High School track and field teams = uniforms, travel
4. Youth groups at Church = summer mission trip
5. High School Junior Class = prom (these are usually in April or May)
6. High School Senior Class = senior trip (usually in the Spring before May)
7. High School Senior Class = graduation activities (May or June)
8. Elementary Schoolwide = end of year activities for the entire school
9. Middle School Band = end of year concert / Spring performance
10. High School ROTC class = military ball (Spring event)

So that is a short list of 10 groups that will have fundraising needs.

Now I need to contact those groups and get them set up on my calendar for a kickoff this Spring.  I will try to incorporate some Sprint One Hour Sales into the mix to get to my goal quicker. This also allows adjustments to the plan if a group needs to change their date.

So ask yourself …
What is your dream for 2023?  What is the goal to help achieve that dream?  How will you execute the plan to get there?  There is still time to help achieve your dream in 2023.  Let SaveAround be a part of your goals and plans to help make your dream a reality.  Contact sales@savearound.com for other ideas.  Good luck!!!!

Fall ‘22 Programs and Closeouts

Continue to work on closing out any groups that ran in Fall 2022.  If you need help completing the closeout form or sending an invoice or shipping label, please contact our team: grouprelations@savearound.com.  It is important to get these wrapped up ASAP.
Snow Days

Take advantage of snow days.  Remember that list you built out in January that includes your chairperson’s contact information?  This would be a great time to reach out to them and find out their plans for a Spring fundraiser.  It’s a casual time for conversation and you aren’t up against a classroom of students or a 2 minute  break standing in the hallway.  Continue to update your lists of contact information and enter in calendar details for Spring events for your potential groups so you know these important milestones for your groups (i.e. trips, prom, senior banquet, sports dinners, graduation).
