Vol. 21 (18) | 06/11/2021

While the summer months are a slower time of year, it can be a very productive time as you are gearing up for Fall and how to be successful.  Here are a few suggestions on things to do during the summer months to prepare for a great and successful Fall season.

  1. Update Your Files

Summer is a great time to go through your files and contact lists. Be sure to update everything. For existing clients and customers, be sure you have everything up to do in your file - contact information and other helpful notes so you are prepared when you meet with them.

  1. New School Built

Did a new school go up in the area you serve - if so who are the primary players?
Principal? Secretary? Coaches? Band Director? Music Department? Athletic Director?  You need to know ALL of these people - not just their name - but emails and possibly cell phone numbers if you can get them. Now is the time to try and round up that information.  Do you have other teacher friends who know someone at the new school?  Reach out to them and try to capture that new school contact information.

  1. Analyze your Fall 2020 and Spring 2021

Did you hit your goals?  # of groups to run / financial budget items for you personally
Obviously, 2020 was a very “non-normal” year all across the country, but did you learn anything from it? Did you learn how to run your business differently?  Virtual and remote options?  Zoom calls became the new way of communication and running meetings.  You can even look back at your repeat customers and look historically at their results - not just 2020, but a few years of sales and get their averages.  Was one year really high as compared to others?  If so, WHY did that happen?

  1. Make a plan - Fall 2021 and Spring 2022

What are your financial goals for you and your family personally for this school year?
In order to hit that goal, how many groups do you need to run?
What amount of sales does each group need to hit to help you achieve your goal?
Do you need some backup groups in case someone cancels or pushes off a year?
If you would like to schedule a call to discuss your “custom financial plan” as it relates to your individual goals, please send an email to sales@savearound.com and we will be happy to set up a time to discuss and review.

  1. Write Thank You Notes

A quick note of thanks and appreciation to your Spring customers will go a long way.  Include your business card or at the very least your contact information so you can say thanks and also ask for a referral or set up a meeting with them later this summer or as soon as school resumes in the Fall.  Everyone likes a sincere thank you and especially if handwritten because that shows you took the time to write out your thoughts and put a stamp on them.
